Sober Driver Program

ADFACT has been the lead agency in drink-driver education in the ACT for a significant number of years, offering programs to men and women who are convicted of or facing charges for drink-drive offences.

ADFACT implemented the Sober Driver Program during December 2004. This program was recently developed by the NSW RTA and partners and has been recognised as the most current and well-researched model of drink-driver education. ADFACT developed an agreement with NSW RTA to implement this program in the ACT and sought support from the NRMA ACT Road Safety Trust to assist with the training and implementation of the program.

The Sober Driver Program replaces ADFACT's previous 11-week Drink-Driver Education Program and ensures that a quality, current product is available and accessible to the ACT community.

The Sober Driver Program is an nine-week course, comprising one 2-hour session per week.
